TYPE-MOON presents KARA NO KYOUKAI

TYPE-MOON
Is all the rage in Japan. For those of you unfamiliar, there are currently two popular series (Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime) released by this producer as well as a fighting game (Melty Blood). Stories immersed in a world full of magic, death, and tragedy, Type-Moon has made many, many fans over the past decade.

TSUKIHIME AND CANON
The world of Tsukihime has several characters with unique abilities, which return in Kara no Kyoukai. These abilities include "Mystic Eyes of Death Perception", the seals of the red-haired Magicians, the void powers of the dark Magicians, and more.

KARA NO KYOUKAI
Originally a series of short doujin stories by Kinoko Nasu based on the world that Tsukihime exists in, has now been adapted into an ongoing anime movie series.

I just finished watching the first four movies (of seven), and I am quite impressed. The movies are presented out of order, allowing you, the viewer, to slowly put together the pieces of a larger story. This makes watching the series much more engaging as you find out the history and reasons behind each character and his or her actions. Also, the musical score has got to be one of the best I've ever heard. The fifth movie is slated to be released on DVD in January 28, 2009. I will be blogging this series from now on as well.

Kara no Kyoukai is extremely gorey with suggestive themes and moments of sexual content. Not recommended for the weaksauce. For more information, visit #gg@irc.rizon.net
